In the series « Somatography of Intimacy » Martin Dieudonné merges performance with painting. This page presents artworks born from live encounters between artist and model—encounters built on presence, trust, intimacy, and consent.
Using his own body as a tool, he shifts away from traditional painting methods, gradually erasing the usual distance between himself and the model. He is also interested in the relationship between artist and model when they newly meet, which echoes the way queer men connect through cruising.
Sometimes, an audience joins the choreography, becoming a third party witnessing this queer artistic interaction.
Rooted in live sessions with gay and queer community members, this growing family of portraits celebrates raw tenderness and vulnerability. The creative energy flows from each unique relationship: friendship, sexual attraction, or simply the charge of an unexpected encounter.
