In the series \u00ab\u00a0Somatography of Intimacy\u00a0\u00bb Martin Dieudonn\u00e9 merges performance with painting. This page\u00a0 presents artworks born from live encounters between artist and model\u2014encounters built on presence, trust, intimacy, and consent.<\/p>

Using his own body as a tool, he shifts away from traditional painting methods, gradually erasing the usual distance between himself and the model. He is also interested in the relationship between artist and model when they newly meet, which echoes the way queer men connect through cruising.<\/p>

Sometimes, an audience joins the choreography, becoming a third party witnessing this queer artistic interaction.<\/p>

Rooted in live sessions with gay and queer community members, this growing family of portraits celebrates raw tenderness and vulnerability.
